TRINITAS WELCOMES NEW MEDICAL DIVISION CHIEF
Johns Hopkins-educated physician named as Endocrinology Chief
Ari S. Eckman, MD, has joined the staff of Trinitas Regional Medical Center as the Chief, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. Dr. Eckman comes to Trinitas from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland where he completed his fellowship in Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism from July, 2007 until June, 2010. He previously completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry's New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey.
Dr. Eckman received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Yeshiva University in New York, New York, in 1998 and his Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Biological and Physical Sciences from Touro College School of Health Sciences in Bayshore, New York, in 2000. His medical degree was awarded from Technion Faculty of Medicine in Haifa, Israel in 2004. He has been Board certified in Internal Medicine since 2007 and is Board eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
Holding memberships in The Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Dr. Eckman has also been published in several medical journals and has made presentations at medical conferences in the US and abroad.
In addition to being on the attending staff of Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Dr. Eckman also has a private practice in Elizabeth. Premier Diabetes & Endocrinology provides medical consultation in the broad range of health conditions, including: Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Thyroid disorders such as hypo- and hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroid goiter, and thyroid cancer; polycystic ovarian syndrome; osteoporosis; testosterone deficiency in men; lipid abnormalities; calcium disorders, vitamin D deficiency; and disorders affecting the adrenal gland and the pituitary gland.
