Fall is a perfect time to learn to improve your health

With tie-ins to annual health care observances and men's health concerns, Trinitas Regional Medical Center has planned free seminar programs to inform and educate the community.

The public is invited to attend the first of these seminars on Wednesday, September 10, 5:30–7pm. Podiatrists Ayesha Mohiuddin, DPM, and Aqsa Siddiqui, DPM will present "Treat Your Feet Well: The ABC’s of Better Foot Health." The program will take place at the Trinitas Center of Regional Education (CORE) located at 1164 Elizabeth Ave., Elizabeth, NJ. Free of charge, the program includes a light dinner. To register for this seminar, call 908-994–8939.

Later in the month, in observance of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Trinitas will host a program of interest to both men and women. On Monday, September 22, 5:30–7pm, urologist Dr. Brett Opell will present "What Every Man Should Know about Prostate Health." This program, again free of charge, will also take place at the Trinitas Center of Regional Education (CORE) located at 1164 Elizabeth Ave., Elizabeth, NJ. A light dinner is also included. Those interested are urged to call 908-994–4MEN (4636) to register.

In October, a second seminar relating to men's health concerns will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 5:30-7:30pm. Urologist and surgeon Dr. Alan Krieger will encourage the audience to take "A Closer Look at Men's Health." This event will take place at The Gateway Family YMCA, 1000 Galloping Hill Road, Union, NJ. To register for this free event that will include a light dinner, call 908-994–4636 (4MEN).

"Trinitas has been pro-active in its community education efforts, from health fairs and health screenings, to making speakers available for community events," notes Joe McTernan, Senior Director of Community and Clinical Services, at Trinitas Regional Medical Center. "These seminars planned for September and October are key examples of Trinitas outreach that offers the community valuable health and medical information directly from our physicians."
