MCCREATH TO LEAD TRINITAS BEHAVIORAL HEALTH/PSYCHIATRY
A professional with over 35 years of leadership experience in the field of behavioral health, James McCreath, PhD, LCSW, has joined Trinitas Regional Medical Center as Vice President for Behavioral Health and Psychiatry. The Hawthorne resident served most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey.
"I am thrilled to join Trinitas and honored to be Vice President of the Behavioral Health/Psychiatry Department," McCreath stated. "Trinitas has an outstanding reputation for operating one of the largest Behavioral Health programs in the State of New Jersey. It offers a comprehensive array of mental health/substance abuse services for the residents of Elizabeth and surrounding communities as well as services that cover the entire state. I look forward to working with Gary Horan, the President/CEO of Trinitas, and the entire Trinitas team to continue the growth and development of these services designed to meet the behavioral health and psychiatric needs of families and individuals locally and across New Jersey."
Previously, McCreath was President and Chief Executive Officer of Hall-Brooke/St. Vincent's Behavioral Health System, Westport, CT, and Vice President, Behavioral Health & Ambulatory Care Services at Jersey City Medical Center. He also served as Assistant Vice President for Professional/Mental Health Services for St. Mary's Hospital, Passaic, and Director of the Adult Partial Hospital Program at Catholic Community Services, Cranford.

Horan, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer at Trinitas, "Jim has an exemplary reputation and over three-decades of results that include growing behavioral health programs and meeting unmet needs. He is well published, has managed and obtained numerous multimillion dollar grants, and is highly regarded and well respected for his professional expertise."
McCreath obtained his Doctorate degree from New York University School of Social Work, and his Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work. He earned a BA degree in Sociology from Seton Hall University. In addition, he served as an instructor at Rutgers University's Graduate School of Social Work, and was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Social Work at Seton Hall University.
Among his many leadership positions, McCreath served as President of the New Jersey Association of Clinical Case Management, President of the Board of Directors of Hudson Partnership CMO, and as a member of the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse.
McCreath's publications and presentations cover such topics as clinical homes, partial care programming for college students, and advance directives for the elderly.
