TRINITAS HEALTH FOUNDATION GALA SET FOR MAY 14
Honors for Wakefern Food Corporation as Philanthropist, Gloria Gaynor as Humanitarian
On Thursday, May 14, the Trinitas Health Foundation's Gala returns for the fourth year to The Venetian in Garfield, New Jersey. As Trinitas celebrates its 15th Anniversary in 2015, "Proud Past, Promising Future" is a fitting theme for this year's event.
Wakefern Food Corporation will receive the "Celebrating Philanthropy" Award. International recording star Gloria Gaynor, who will perform her signature song, "I Will Survive," will receive the "Humanitarian" Award.
Returning to the podium as emcee is Elizabeth's own NJ Burkett, Channel 7 WABC Eye Witness News broadcast journalist and long-time friend and supporter of Trinitas. The Infernos Band, the area's premier live performance group, will perform music throughout the evening. The dynamic group boasts Richie Rosato, former lead singer of The Duprees, and Kenny Simmons, former member of The Commodores.
Gary S. Horan, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer of Trinitas, notes, "Wakefern shares both their human and financial resources with Trinitas. Chris Lane, Senior Vice President for Wakefern, has been an active member of the Trinitas Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees. Wakefern has been a 'go-to' organization for Trinitas, a reliable partner with us, and they are extremely deserving of this award. Most recently, they provided the funding for one of our new Specialty Care Transport Unit (SCTU) vehicles that serve the needs of patients in Union County and throughout the state."
Gloria Gaynor, the Gala's Humanitarian Honoree, has an enduring connection with Trinitas as Nadine Brechner, Chief Development Officer, and Vice President of Trinitas Health Foundation, explains. "Gloria Gaynor has been a staunch supporter of Trinitas for nearly a decade. We can't thank her enough for being a part of our activities since 2005 when she opened our Comprehensive Cancer Center with her smash hit 'I Will Survive.'" Her spirit of survival against adversity continues to resonate among her original fans and those who have come to know her in more recent years. As an icon of strength and fortitude, Gloria vividly reflects the vision and mission of Trinitas as we serve our community. Over the years, Gloria has taken an active interest in our teen residential program where she has connected in a very personal way with our patients who have suffered abuse."
Hors d'oeuvres, trend-setting cocktails, and a sumptuous dinner are part of the event in the spectacular setting of The Venetian. The Gala comes complete with the ever-popular Silent Auction and 50/50 cash raffle. Participation in the Auction is not limited to the evening of the event. Bids will be taken on a variety of very exciting and desirable items prior to the Gala.
Co-chairs of the 2015 Gala are Merritt M. Duffy, Flemington, NJ, of B.B. Miller & Company; Deborah Durand, RN, Elizabeth, NJ, Trinitas Regional Medical Center; Catherine J. Flynn, Esq., Mendham, NJ, of Carroll McNulty Kull; Eli Kramer, Manalapan, NJ, of CJ Management, LLC; Lisa Liss, Staten Island, NY, Trinitas Regional Medical Center; Leon Pirak, MD, Springfield, NJ, Trinitas Anesthesia Associates, and Bernadette Saluda-Pryor, Rahway, NJ, Trinitas Regional Medical Center.
